TOWSON, Md.  – The Towson University softball team lost to Hofstra in the first of a three-game Coastal Athletic Association series on Friday.
 
Key Stats:

• Kinsley Peek had the Tiger's lone hit of the afternoon.
• Olivia Trombley receives the loss after allowing eight hits and five runs with one strikeout over 3.0 innings pitched.
• Emma Falen earns the win after starting and pitching 6.0 scoreless innings allowing only one hit with two walks and seven strikeouts.

How it Happened:

• Hofstra wasted no time getting on the board as three singles in the top of the 1^st gave the Pride an early 1-0 lead.
• Addie Ferguson and Mackenzie Gorczyca each walked to put two on with two outs in the bottom of the 1^st, but the Tigers were unable to equalize.
• Towson starter Olivia Trombley pitched a scoreless 2^nd with a strikeout.
• A one out walk in the top of the 3^rd followed by four singles and a hit batter plated four more Hofstra runs pushing the deficit to five.
• Jessa Pieters entered the game in relief and threw a scoreless top of the 4^th.
• An error allowed the Pride to add two more runs in the top of the 5^th as Towson went down 7-0.
• Kinsley Peek broke up Emma Falen's no-hit bid with a single in the bottom of the 5^th, but Towson couldn't get a rally going.
• Hofstra broke the game open with five hits and seven runs in the top of the 6^th to double its lead to 14-0.
• The Tigers couldn't get any runs back in the home half of the 6^th and lost 14-0 to the Pride.
