Tigers Open Home Invitational against Arkansas Front of a Record-Setting Crowd

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University volleyball team faced Arkansas on Friday night in the team's opening match of the Tiger Invitational in front of a record-setting crowd of 1,161 fans at SECU Arena. After escaping the first set with a 26-24 win, the Razorbacks won the second and third sets convincingly.
 
Arkansas won a tight opening set, 26-24, as each team finished with 15 kills on similar hitting percentages. The Razorbacks followed that with 14 kills in the second set and 17 in the third, as they went on to win in straight sets.

  • Arkansas outhit Towson .337 to .109 in the match. The Razorbacks finished with 46 kills to the Tigers' 29.
  • Arkansas recorded 31 kills over the final two sets while limiting Towson to 14 kills in that span.
