TOWSON, Md. – Towson University middle blocker Clara Vorel has been named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
 
Vorel posted a team-best 10 blocks in the Tigers' two wins over Northeastern to begin league play. She added 12 kills on a .367 hitting percentage, one assist and two digs over the weekend.
 
The Rincon, Ga. native posted eight kills on a .571 hitting mark in Friday's conference opener, supplementing five blocks. She closed the weekend with another five stops at the net and added four kills on Saturday.
 
Vorel is the Tigers' first weekly award winner of the season and their first rookie of the week recipient since Malinah Purcell-Telefoni earned the distinction on Oct. 6, 2025.
 
The Black & Gold now embark on their first CAA road trip of the regular season to face the Charleston Cougars on Friday and Saturday at TD Arena.
