HAMPTON, Va. – Towson University women's soccer concludes a stretch of three straight road matches to start Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play when they face off against Hampton at 1 p.m.
 
After earning its first CAA win, Towson sits on three points in a three-way tie for third place in the CAA North Division. Hampton has yet to earn its first points of the season but remains only one point behind the third and final postseason spot in the CAA South Division.
 
Towson is coming off a 2-0 win over William & Mary where it took the lead in the 12th minute and iced the match with a penalty kick goal in the second half. Hampton lost to Drexel 4-1 on Thursday.
 
The Tigers and Pirates started their series when the Pirates joined the CAA in 2022. The first match was played in Towson on Oct. 16, 2022 which the Tigers won 6-0. The only match in Virginia was played to a 3-0 Towson win with the most recent match in Towson ending 2-0 in favor of the Tigers on Sept. 28, 2025.
 
Sophie Thibeault scored the opening goal against William & Mary after a long ball into the box from Paelyn Bayer and drew the foul that led to the penalty kick for the second goal. Thibeault is the only Tiger with at least two goals and two assists on the year. The Pirates are led offensively by Nylah Jennings, who has contributed to all four of the Pirates' goals this season.
 
Following this match, Towson returns home to face Stony Brook at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4 at Tiger Field. The Seawolves were the North Division's representative in the CAA Championship last season.
