TOWSON, Md. –
Jayla Caldwell opened her collegiate scoring ledger with a brace in the 3-1 Towson win against Bucknell at Tiger Field.
"I'm really proud of the team effort today. Our newcomers are starting to settle in and it was great to score off of two set pieces. Meron's goal was in open play and Jayla's two goals were off of corners. We knew that Bucknell would come at us in the second half with all they had. I'm pleased that we fought and preserved our lead. It's really nice to be at home and we love playing in front of our fans," head coach

Towson (2-2-2) scored all three of its goals in the first half.
Meron Koro scored the opening goal off a goalkeeper parry. Caldwell's goals both came off corners. Bucknell (3-5-0) scored a goal in the second half but was not enough to make the comeback.

Key Moments
- 15' Towson Goal – Riley Matthews played Koro into a dangerous position. Koro's initial attempt was stopped by the keeper but the parry landed right at Koro's feet for the easy goal from inside the six-yard box.
- 38' Towson Goal – Emely Rubio stepped up to take the corner and put a ball to the far post which Caldwell leaped to get a head to, redirecting it into the lower 90 for the goal.
- 43' Towson Goal – Caldwell scored her second off another set piece. After an initial header did not find its way towards the goal, a weak Bucknell clear put the ball back on Caldwell's foot. She chipped the ball over the keeper and just under the crossbar for the goal.
- 60' Bucknell Goal – The Bisons got a set piece that they put into the box. The ball was redirected by way of a header and ricocheted off the post. It initially looked to have bounced back out but the officials ruled it a goal.
