Biography

2020: Candidate for the 2020 Senior Class Award…Named to the CAA Commissioners Honor Roll for the fall semester…Played and started in 15 games for the Tigers…had a batting average of .447 with 21 hits, nine runs, two doubles, one triple, two home runs and six RBI’s…Her first home run came in a 7-0 win against Holy Cross on Feb. 14…second homer was against Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 15…in the circle, Smith-Harrington had a 2.27 ERA, going 3-1 with 26 strikeouts…she threw two shutouts in the Winthrop tournament, first against Holy Cross and then the next day in a 7-0 victory against UNCG.

2019: Was named to the CAA All-Second Team, named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team…Played in all 52 games, starting in 51…led the team in doubles with 18, had a batting average of .316, had 36 runs on 50 hits and was second on the team in home runs (8)…Had 19 walks and a .582 slugging percentage…Had a 2.20 ERA and 6-3 overall record in the circle

2018:  Made 19 appearances and 13 starts ... Compiled a 7-5 record and 5.02 earned run average ... Had 33 strikeouts in 61.1 innings ...  Had one multi-hit game against North Carolina A&T (Feb. 10) ... Had three games with five or more strikeouts against North Carolina A&T (Feb. 9), Fairfield (March 11), and Canisius (March 17) ... Pitched 6.1 no-hit innings against Mount St. Mary’s on March 10 … Helped Towson set a program record with 42 wins and make its first postseason appearance in program history.

2017: Was named CAA Rookie of the Week on April 3 … Led Towson with 13 wins, which was eighth in the CAA …. She had a 3.52 earned run average in 22 appearances … She finished with 59 strikeouts in 133.1 innings … Had two shutouts against Morgan State (Apr. 18) and Howard (Apr. 19) … Struck out a season-best seven strikeouts in season debut against Youngstown State (Feb. 10) … She finished with five or more strikeouts four times.

Prior To Towson: She starred for the West Albany High School Bulldogs … Was named the 2016 Conference Pitcher of the Year, 2014 Conference Player of the Year and is a three-time all-state selection … A four-time all-league honoree, she was named the 2014 softball MVP. … Smith-Harrington played two years for the NW Blaze club team that placed fourth out of 53 teams at ASA Nationals over the summer. 
 
Personal: Her career goal is to become a physical therapist … hobbies include playing softball … Favorite baseball team is the Seattle Mariners and favorite athlete is Kyle Seager … Her favorite meal is spaghetti and meatballs … The daughter of Tim Harrington and Lauren Smith … Has an older brother, Alex … Also played volleyball in high school.
