2019-20: Named to the All-CAA Third Team … Earned CAA Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career on Jan. 13 … Named to the All-CAA Honor Roll on Jan. 6 & 27 … Led the CAA in free-throw percentage (88.6) and finished 11th in scoring (13.6) and 13th in 3-point field goal percentage (38.7) … Started all 32 games and averaged 28.9 minutes … Was second on the Tigers in scoring and 3-pointers made with 46 … He was one of three Tigers who made at least 45 3-pointers … Scored in double figures in 23 times … Had a stretch in which he scored in double figures in 10 consecutive games from Dec. 21 to Jan. 25 … Scored in double figures in the second half of games 13 times … He tallied 20 of his career best 31 points against Drexel on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020. The 20 second half points were a season best …. Scored 23 points in a win over Drexel on Jan. 9 and a loss at Delaware on Feb. 6 … Tallied 18 points in wins over George Washington on Nov. 5, Tulane on Dec. 21 and Delaware on Jan. 11 … Made at least 2 3-pointers in a game 15 times … Made a career best four 3-points in a road loss at the College of Charleston … Ended the season by making 24 consecutive free throws … Had five games in which he finished with at least five rebounds … Grabbed a season best six rebounds in season-opening win at George Washington … Had a season best three steals in win over Bryn Athyn on Nov. 8 … Helped Towson win 19 games, finish third in the CAA with 12 conference victories and win seven consecutive conference contests for the first time in program history … In addition the 7-1 month of January was the second best month in program history behind the 1990-91 squad that went 8-1 … Towson finished 15th nationally in free throw percentage (77.1) and 33rd in rebounding margin (+5.5) … This was the sixth consecutive year in which Towson led the CAA in rebounding margin.

2018-19: Appeared in 32 games, making five starts … Averaged 4.6 points in 17.8 minutes … Reached double digits in scoring five times … He scored a career-high 11 points in road games at Drexel on Jan. 17 and Northeastern on Feb. 23 … In that game against Northeastern, he also had five rebounds and a career best four assists … Scored 10 points against James Madison in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) first round game … Made three 3-pointers against Drexel on Jan. 17 … Grabbed a career best seven rebounds against Wesley on Nov. 11 … Pulled down six rebounds against William & Mary on Feb. 28.

Prior To Towson: Following his senior year where he averaged 14.2 points per game, Betrand was named to the PIAA Class 6A All-State Second Team ... Scored 14 points and handed out five assists in the PIAA Class 6A title game against Lincoln ...  Playing for head coach Matt Griffin, Betrand, averaged 14.1 points per game in helping Roman Catholic advance to the Philadelphia Catholic League semifinals and win 20 games as a junior. The Cahillites also participated in the PIAA Class 6A tournament. He's an athletic guard played AAU for WeR1 and Philly Pride, which is sponsored by Under Armour.

Personal: Son of Allen and Shaunte… has three siblings (Jafeir, America, and Maurice) …  majoring in Sport Management… aspires to play basketball professionally… among his favorites are the Eagles (pro team), Rasheed Jordan and LeBron James (athletes), “Don’t Be A Menace” (movie), Kevin Hart (actor), NBA Youngboy (musician).
