Biography

2019-20: Averaged 9.2 points per game, which was third on the team, in 30 games … Started the final 27 games of the season … Finished sixth in the CAA in offensive rebounds (2.1) and ninth in rebounding (6.4) … Was Towson’s leading rebounder … Blocked 13 shots, which was third on the team … Scored in double figures 11 times this season and had three doubles: Buffalo (16 points, 12 rebounds), Charleston (career-high 20 points, 11 rebounds) and UNCW (13 points, 11 rebounds) … Ended his career with six double-doubles … Scored 12 points in season finale win over Northeastern … Averaged 11.1 points over Towson’s final four games … Scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half to fuel a win over James Madison on Jan. 18 … Grabbed at least six rebounds in 21 games ... Had a career best five assists in a win over Drexel on Jan. 9… Finished with a season best three steals against Buffalo on Nov. 22 … Helped Towson win 19 games, finish third in the CAA with 12 conference victories and win seven consecutive conference contests for the first time in program history … In addition the 7-1 month of January was the second best month in program history behind the 1990-91 squad that went 8-1 … Towson finished 15th nationally in free throw percentage (77.1) and 33rd in rebounding margin (+5.5) … This was the sixth consecutive year in which Towson led the CAA in rebounding margin.

2018-19: Appeared in 32 games, making 23 starts … Was Towson’s third leading scorer (8.3 points per game) and third leading rebounder (5.5) … Finished ninth in the CAA in blocked shots (0.6), 13th in offensive rebounds per game (1.5), and 15th in rebounding. Scored in double figures 14 times and grabbed double digit rebounds four times … Recorded three double-doubles: Drexel on Jan. 17 (13 points, 10 rebounds), Drexel on Feb. 16 (season-high 17 points, 10 rebounds) and Hofstra on Feb. 21 (16 points, 11 rebounds) … Was 5-for-5 for 11 points against Florida Atlantic on Nov. 17 … Scored in double figures in three consecutive games on three occasions … Made five 3-pointers … Had six or more rebounds in a single game 14 times … Led Towson in scoring twice and rebounding nine times.

2017-18: Sat out because of transfer rules.

2016-17 (DUQUESNE): Appeared in 32 games and made 21 starts for the Dukes ... Averaged 5.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocked shots per game ... Sanders had four double-digit rebounding performances, including a career best 16 against Robert Morris ... He also scored 11 points in that game to post his only double-double of the season ... He set a career-best with 12 points against Davidson ...  Overall, he scored in double figures four times. 

PRIOR TO TOWSON: Shooting 60.4 percent in his collegiate career (87-for-144) ... He saw action in 30 of his 34 games off the bench as freshman ... Sanders made his first start against Pittsburgh, a game the Dukes won ... Last season, projected over 40 minutes, Sanders would have averaged 12.5 rebounds per game ... He has a strong basketball background in which he played for coach John Woodman at Tottenville High School in Staten Island, N.Y ... He finished his high school career seventh on Staten Island's all-time scoring list with 1,513 points and was named to the USA Today All-USA New York Boys' Basketball Team ... He averaged 16.6 points, 15.2 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per as a senior ... Sanders also played AAU ball for New Heights under coach Chris Alesi. New Heights is a super successful Under Armour grassroots program.

PERSONAL: Son of Corey Sanders and Maureen Lundy…He lists his favorite athlete as Kobe Bryant… Favorite food is mac ‘n’ cheese.
