Biography
2019-20: Ended his career by making 59 straight starts, including all 32 this season … Named to the All-CAA Defensive Team for the second consecutive year … Finished his career with 120 blocked shots, which was eighth all-time in program history … For the season, Tunstall blocked 41 shots … Had 35 career games in which he’s blocked at least two or more shots … Was tied for second in the CAA in blocked shots (1.3), fifth in offensive rebounding (2.3) and 11th in rebounding (5.8) … Blocked a season best four shots in a road win at William & Mary and James Madison … Collected his only double-double of the season (11 points, 10 rebounds) in a road win at Morgan State … Also had nine points and 10 rebounds in a win against UMBC and nine points and nine rebounds in a CAA tournament loss to Northeastern … Had nine games in which he grabbed six or more rebounds … Finished his career with 628 rebounds and 464 points on 60.1 percent shooting (199-for-331) … Was 9-for-12 in five career CAA Tournament games … For the season, he averaged 4.4 points … Made seven 3-pointers including two against Kent State … Had a career best four assists in a win over Elon … Helped Towson win 19 games, finish third in the CAA with 12 conference victories and win seven consecutive conference contests for the first time in program history … In addition the 7-1 month of January was the second best month in program history behind the 1990-91 squad that went 8-1 … Towson finished 15th nationally in free throw percentage (77.1) and 33rd in rebounding margin (+5.5) … This was the sixth consecutive year in which Towson led the CAA in rebounding margin.
2018-19: Named to the All-CAA Defensive Team … Appeared in 32 games, making 27 starts … Started the Tigers final 27 games … Led Towson in rebounding (7.7) and blocked shots (1.0) … Was third in the CAA in blocked shots, offensive rebounds per game (2.9), ninth in rebounding and 11th in defensive rebounds per game (4.8) … In addition, Tunstall averaged 5.7 points per game while leading the Tigers in field goal percentage (55.4) … Tunstall blocked a career best five shots against the College of Charleston on Feb. 2 … He had 10 games this season with at least two blocked shots in the same game … Tunstall notched his only double-double this season against Hofstra on Feb. 21 (season-high 11 points, 10 rebounds) … Tunstall's most memorable performance was his career best 21-rebound effort against Delaware on Feb. 14. It was a SECU Arena rebounding record, passing 2014 CAA Player Of The Year Jerelle Benimon's previous mark of 18 established against Delaware on Feb. 17, 2014 … Tunstall became the ninth Tiger in program history to grab at least 20 rebounds in a single game … The 21 rebounds were tied for the fifth-most in a single game in program history … It was the 16th time in program history a Towson player finished with at least 20 rebounds in a single game … Tunstall was the first Tiger since 2012 to have at least 20 rebounds in a game … Tunstall was the second CAA player this season to finish with at least 20 rebounds … In addition to Delaware, Tunstall had big rebounding games against George Washington (13 rebounds), La Salle (14) and UMBC (15) … He had seven double-digit rebounding games including 10 against James Madison in the CAA Tournament … Scored at least eight points seven times ... He also scored 11 points to help Towson win at UNCW on Jan. 31 … It was the Tigers first win at UNCW since 2014 … Tunstall made his first career 3-pointer against UNCW on Jan. 31.
2017-18: Appeared in 32 games … Averaged 15.1 minutes, 2.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game … Scored a season high seven points and pulled a career-best tying 13 rebounds against Hofstra … Grabbed six or more rebounds nine times … Had a stretch in which he made 15 consecutive shots from Dec. 22-Jan. 27 … Had three assists against UNCW … Was second on the team with 35 blocked shots … Had four blocked shots in 17 minutes against Pittsburgh … Had three games with three blocked shots (Morgan State, Drexel, and James Madison) … Was sixth in the CAA in blocked shots per game (1.1) and 15th in offensive rebounds per game (1.6).
2016-17: Saw action in 29 games … scored a career-high 16 points in a win over Goucher … in that game he also grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds earning him his first career double-double … Finished the season 24-of-29 (.828) shooting from the field … Was 7-for-7 from the floor in Goucher and 3-for-3 in games against Northeastern and Hofstra … Averaged 1.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game .. Was second on the team with 11 blocked shots.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played senior season for head coach Pervis Ellison at Life Center Academy…averaged 16.9 points in helping the Lancers to 18-9 record…tabbed as LCA’s offensive player of the year…selected as MVP of the Bluegrass (KY) Hoops Fest, Playaz Jingle Bells Jubilee Holiday Tournament and the Mustang Madness…spent three years at Medford Tech…earned Third-Team All-South Jersey honors after averaging 16.7 points as a junior…led Burlington County in blocked shots, while ranking int he Top 10 in scoring…named team MVP and best defensive player…played AAU for National Nike Elite Youth Basketball Team Final…rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com.
