The Tigers named one of their own as Assistant Athletics Director for Fan Development, hiring Mike Hollis from Madison Square Garden where he spent three seasons between New York Knicks (NBA) marketing and arena ticket sales for the New York Rangers (NHL), the New York Liberty (WNBA) and the Knicks.
At Towson Hollis oversees the Tigers' strategic marketing and ticket sales plans with emphasis on increasing the TU brand throughout the greater Baltimore area through community outreach programs, group and individual ticket sales, season ticket sales and advertising.
Since graduating Magna Cum Laude from Towson in 2009 with a degree in Sports Management, Hollis padded his work experience list with several positions in the professional arena.
As an undergraduate, he was active in the university's Sports Business Association, serving on its board and as treasurer. In 2006, he was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and in 2008 he was accepted into the Golden Key International Honour Society.
Hollis left a position as an inside sales representative with Madison Square Garden where he generated over $1.4 million in revenue for the arena's three pro franchises and outside events. He was a major contributor to the No. 1 revenue generating sales team for the 2009-10 NBA season.
During his time at Towson where he spent three seasons as a basketball manager for the Tigers, Hollis served internships with the New York Knicks and the New Jersey Jackals, a minor league baseball team out of Little Falls, N.J.
