Tigers won six of his ten starts ... made nine starts in Colonial Athletic Assocation games and Tigers won six of them ... tied for CAA lead with 16 wild pitches ... struggled in the early season but made tremendous progress as the season went on ... suffered lone loss of season at Bethune-Cookman in relief ... threw one scoreless inning of relief in 6-5 win over Youngstown State ... earned first victory with two innings of scoreless relief in Tigers’ 8-7 victory at Delaware State ... pitched three innings of relief and struck out three in Tigers’ 10-9 win over Holy Cross ... made first career start in Tigers’ loss to Yale ... pitched five innings and allowed two runs on four hits ... received no-decision ... had very impressive start against Delaware, allowing four runs in 6.1 innings and earned no-decision ... struck out six Blue Hens ... started against James Madison and struck out six but did not figure in the decision of Towson’s 16-11 win ... earned no-decision in Tigers’ 9-6 loss to 25th-ranked George Mason ... picked up second win of season in Tigers’ 10-4 victory at William & Mary ... pitched 5.2 innings against the Tribe and allowed two runs on six hits with six strikeouts ... earned no-decision in Tigers’ win over UNC Wilmington ... picked up third win of year with 17-8 victory at Hofstra ... pitched five innings at Hofstra and struck out a career high seven batters ... received no-decision in 9-6 victory at Georgia State ... started series opener against Northeastern and pitched three first innings of Tigers’ 13-10 11-inning win ... came back to start season finale against Northeastern two days later  ... pitched well against the Huskies, allowing four runs on seven hits in five innings ... did not figure in decision, a 12-8 Tiger loss.


BACKGROUND: Named first team all-conference as a pitcher as a junior and senior at Tunkhannock High School ... missed most of senior year due to appendicitis ... came back to turn in a remarkable performance in the first round of state tournament ... struck out 17 batters in a 7-6 victory over Coughlin High School and drove in the game-winning run in bottom of the seventh ... posted a 3-2 record with a 1.72 E.R.A.  as a junior with 49 strikeouts in 40 innings ... had a 1.59 E.R.A. as a senior with 61 strikeouts in 27 innings ... pitched for his father, Coach Daniel Austin, as a senior ... also played in the Keystone State Games ... member of Tunkhannock’s swimming and golf teams.
