Biography
2017 Season: Appeared in 15 games on attack as a redshirt sophomore ... tallied six goals on the year ... had a career-high two goals against UMass (April 8) and matched that total in the next game against Fairfield (April 22) ... one of his goals against UMass was an extra-man goal ... also scored an extra-man goal against Penn State (May 13) in the NCAA Tournament ... had 12 shots on the season, 10 of which were on cage ... snagged three ground balls.
2016 Season: Saw the field as an attackman in 10 games during his redshirt freshman year … made collegiate debut against Mercer (Feb. 12) in the season opener … scored his first college goal against the Bears … finished with three goals, added one each at No. 11 Johns Hopkins (March 12) and at Ohio State (March 15), his former school … scored on half of his six total shots, five of which were on cage.
At Ohio State: Did not see game action with the Buckeyes … Ohio State reached NCAA Quarterfinals after topping Duke in the first round.
High School: Won Junior A provincial title with Okotoks Junior A Raiders in 2013 ... Minto Cup participant and was Canadian Junior A Rookie of the Year honorable mention in 2013 ... played for Midget "A" Calgary Hornets and won 2012 gold medal for both city of Calgary and Province of Alberta, leading team in scoring with 110 points (72 goals, 38 assists) in 26 games ... played for Team Alberta U16 field lacrosse team and selected to Canadian All-Star Team ... member of Elev8 Lacrosse club program ... also played football and basketball and was 2013 football defensive player of the year for Bowness.
Personal: Son of Al and Susan Kinnear … has one younger brother, Jeremy … works as a field lacrosse coach during the summer … favorite athletes are LeBron James and Payton Manning … favorite pro teams are the Baltimore Ravens (NFL), Calgary Flames (NHL) and Toronto Blue Jays (MLB) … favorite band is The Tragically Hip … helped lead team to Minto Cup Playoffs in summer of 2017 ... plans to major in business during his time at Towson.
