Biography

2017: Saw the field in 10 games as a redshirt senior … accounted for 21 total tackles, including 11 solo stops … had a season-best six tackles in his final collegiate game against Rhode Island (Nov. 18) … finished with 2.5 sacks, including two against the Rams … dropped opposing quarterbacks for 17 yards, with 15 coming against Rhode Island … had 4.5 tackles for loss, covering 21 yards … had four quarterback hurries, including one in each of his final two games … had a pass breakup against No. 14 Villanova (Sept. 30).

2016: Appeared in all 11 games, earning the start in six…started the first three, and last three, games of the season…led all defensive lineman with 55 tackles…added two tackles-for-loss a fumble recovery and a blocked kick…recorded nine tackles and blocked a fourth quarter field goal to help the Tigers defeat Saint Francis…posted five stops in the CAA opener at Villanova…registered a career-high 12 tackles in the victory over Elon…finished season with seven tackles against William & Mary and Rhode Island.

2015: Appeared in 10 games…earned the start in the season opener at East Carolina…finished season with 23 tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks…posted three tackles in each of the first two games…added a sack against Saint Francis…recorded a career-best six tackles, and added a sack, in the victory over Villanova.

2014: Appeared in 11 games…registered 22 tackles, two tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks…had season-best five tackles against James Madison…recorded a sack against North Carolina Central.

2013: Sat out as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Julius Pinkney at Frederick Douglas High School…earned first-team all-state honors after recording 105 tackles and eight sacks as a senior…helped the Eagles to a 12-2 record and a berth in the state championship game…all-metro and two-time all county selection…posted 109 tackles and 10 sacks as a junior…registered nine tackles and two sacks in a victory over Gwynn Park in the state playoffs…contributed 10 tackles in a shutout victory over Friendly…one of seven shutouts on the season.

PERSONAL: Born June 25, 1994…son of Derrick Cummings and Gladys Owens…has two brothers and one sister …majoring in criminal justice.
