The owners of a 29-meet win streak, the 1980-81 and 1981-82 men's swimming teams were inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 1999.
Under the direction of Hall of Fame Coach
Ray Riordan, the Tigers won 26 straight meets and finished 10th and 13th, respectively, in the Eastern Seaboard Championships.
In the 1980-81 season, the team was led by
Bryan Graff, '81 and Hall of Fame member
Miguel Ferrer Roig '82 who combined to hold eight individual Towson records and were members of the three record-breaking relays. In just its second season of NCAA Division I competition, the team finished their 13-0 season as Tri-State champions. It was the Tigers' fourth conference meet title in five years, and nine Tigers qualified for the Eastern Seaboard Championship meet, where Towson finished 10th as a team. Towson swimmers set 16 school records during the 1980-81 season.
In the 1981-82 season, the Tigers posted a second straight undefeated season with a 12-0 record while extending its winning streak to 26, winning another Tri-State championship, Towson's fifth in six years. Ferrer Roig became Towson's first swimmer to earn All-America honors and he graduated as part of a school-record-setting 800 yard free relay team.
