Towson Athletics Faculty Fellows

Mission
The Towson University Athletic Department is committed to assisting student-athletes with their growth as a student, an athlete and as a person.  In order to assist in this commitment we have updated our Faculty Fellows Program.  This program will afford the student-athletes an opportunity to engage, learn, and be mentored by professors outside of the classroom by connecting athletic teams with faculty members interested in their sport. 
 
The Faculty Fellows Program goes hand in hand with the Mission of our Athletic Department’s Strategic Plan, “Towson Athletics enriches the University through a culture of engagement while leading and inspiring our student-athletes to be champions in competition, the classroom, and the community”.  More specifically, this program highlights Strategic Theme #2: Student-Athlete Academic Success.

Overview
The Faculty Fellow role can include, but is not limited to a one year commitment to assigned team(s), help make a positive impact in the overall academic experience of student-athletes, cultivate relationships with student-athletes and coaches to bridge the gap between athletics and academics, attend athletic events to cheer them on to victory, participate in community service opportunities with the team(s), meet with prospective student-athletes during official recruiting visits, facilitate workshops based on a needs assessment (i.e. time management, resume building, stress management, etc.) and support the mission of Building Greatness at Towson University!
