The 1933-34 Towson men's basketball team was the first team of distinction to be inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 1986.
Coached by Towson Hall of Famer
Donald “Doc” Minnegan, the squad won the Maryland and District of Columbia Teachers College and Normal School championship with a 13-3 record.
At one point during the season, the team won nine straight games. Hall of Famer and team captain
Josh Wheeler was the team’s top scorer with 215 points in 16 games, while another Hall of Famer,
George Rankin, scored 142 points and led the team with 59 assists.
