2001 Towson Men's Lacrosse Team
With a roster that included 12 freshmen and 17 sophomores, the young and upstart 2001 Tigers made college history by registering the largest turnaround ever by a NCAA men’s lacrosse team.
Coach Tony Seaman’s squad rebounded from 3-10 the year before to post a 14-4 record.
The Tigers swept through the America East regular season with a 5-0 record by a winning margin of 8.4 goals and handily won the conference tournament title. After downing Duke 12-10 in the first round they upset Maryland 12-11 in a quarterfinal game in College Park to reach their second NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship round. The story book season ended when Princeton held on for a 12-11 semifinal victory.
