What should I bring to the tryout?
(1) Cleats & Gym shoes
(2) Fall 2026 class schedule
If I make the team will I get a scholarship?
The tryout for walk-ons is a competition for a spot on the current semester's roster, not for a scholarship. Students that make the team through the tryout may earn a scholarship at a later date, but that is not guaranteed.
What are the coaching staff's expectations for the student-athletes?
The football coaching staff is looking for young men that will be positive representatives of Towson University on and off the field. The coaching staff expects every Tiger football player to act with integrity and compete to the best of his ability. Dedication in the classroom will be a priority, as one of the team's goals will be to maintain a combined team grade point average of 3.0.
What criteria will be used to evaluate each participant?
(1) Character, attitude and coachability
(2) Current grade point average
(3) Athletic ability at your position
(4) Post workout background check
When will I know if I made the team?
The coaching staff will contact each participant that made the team within seven days.
