Jon Karsos enters his third year as an assistant coach on Mike Gottlieb’s staff at Towson. Karsos serves as the team’s pitching coach.
In his second season, Karsos saw the pitching staff lower the team ERA by 1.80. The 5.19 team ERA ranked fourth in the CAA.
Karsos came to Towson after spending two seasons as the head coach at the Community College of Baltimore County Dundalk.
In his two seasons as head coach, Karsos helped lead the Lions to back-to-back Region XX Division 2 runner-up finishes.
Karsos took over as the Lions head coach after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach.
Prior to his time at CCBC Dundalk, Karsos spent two seasons at Loyola Blakefield High School. After helping the team to the MIAA JV championship in his first season, he helped the Dons get within one game of the MIAA championship.
Karsos played two seasons for head coach Cal Bailey at West Virginia State. In 2005, he helped the Yellow Jackets to the Division II College World Series and a No. 1 ranking in the national polls.
Prior to his time at WVSU, Karsos played two seasons for current Tiger assistant Scott Roane at CCBC Dundalk. He earned Maryland JUCO All-Star honors in 2004 after going 4-3 with a 2.84 ERA.
Karsos attended Towson High School where he helped the Generals to the 2000 2A Maryland state championship. He earned all-region and all-county honors as a senior.
Karsos received his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia State in 2005.
