Towson University baseball head coach Matt Tyner has announced the addition of Steven Medrano as an assistant coach.
Medrano joins the staff after serving as a high-performance trainer at Driveline Baseball in Tampa, Fla., where he coached and advised players at all levels from high school to Major League Baseball (MLB).
Prior to joining Driveline, he directed tournament and baseball operations at the MLB Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa, from 2022 to 2025. Medrano also worked in tournament operations with Baseball Factory and FiveTool Baseball, while owning and operating a player development business specializing in rehabilitating collegiate and professional baseball players from all levels of injury, as well as utilizing modern data collection technology to advance players in their careers.
The El Paso native had collegiate playing stops at Howard Junior College and Tennessee Tech before graduating from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science & physiology.
Medrano is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, certified personal trainer, nutritionist and corrective exercise specialist.
