Zach Piazza will join the Towson coaching staff as the director of baseball operations for the 2020 season.
"Having Zach Piazza come on board with us is a phenomenal gift for us," said Tyner. "His knowledge of the game as well as his aptitude to teach it at a young age will prove very beneficial to us as we continue to try to bridge the gap between player and coach. I see a bright and great future for Zach as a coach because he can not only teach infield and defense, but he is also equipped to handle baserunning and hitting. Overall, he will be able to relate to players based on his personal experiences."
Piazza came to Towson for the 2019 season after graduating from Limestone, being the only Tiger to start all 53 games, primary at third base. The Huntington, Maryland native hit .255 with a team-best 28 RBI, hitting four home runs and nine doubles. Including his time before Towson, he hit 37 home runs in his college career. Piazza is currently in graduate school at Towson.
