Bethany Essalhi has served in the Towson athletic training clinic since August 2014. She works primarily with the field hockey and softball teams and has previously worked with women’s lacrosse, cross country, track & field, and cheerleading at Towson. Her role at Towson includes being a preceptor for athletic training students in addition to coordinating and supervising on-campus physician clinics for student-athletes.

Essalhi came to Towson after a season at High Point University, where she was the certified athletic trainer for women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse for the 2013-14 athletic season. She was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the Virginia Military Institute for the 2012-13 athletic year. She served as the athletic trainer for the men’s lacrosse and women’s soccer programs, designing rehabilitation programs for cadet-athletes.

Essalhi finished her undergraduate degree from Bridgewater College in 2012 with a double major in athletic training and psychology; she completed a Master of Education in kinesiology, with a concentration in athletic training, from the University of Virginia in 2013.  She earned her doctorate in athletic training from the University of Idaho in 2016.

She has been published in several professional journals and is an adjunct lecturer at Towson for Advanced Writing for Research in Exercise Science.
