Biography

2017: Played and started in all 11 games on the Tigers’ defensive line … finished with 44 tackles on an even split of 22 solo and 22 assisted … had a season-best eight stops at Elon (Nov. 4), including seven assisted tackles … logged 8.5 tackles for loss, dropping opponents for 29 yards … posted 3.5 sacks for 19 yards … recovered a fumble at William & Mary (Nov. 11).

2016: Appeared in 10 games, making six starts…recorded 20 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and two pass break-ups…opened season with two tackles against South Florida…registered a tackle-for-loss against Richmond…had season-best four tackles against Stony Brook, Dartmouth and Delaware.

2015: Appeared in all 11 games, making six starts…finished season with 29 tackles, 5.0 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks and one quarterback hurry…made five tackles, including 3.5 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks in the victory over Saint Francis…added a season-best six stops in the victory over Maine.

2014: Appeared in nine games…finished season with nine tackles…registered a half tackle-for-loss against against Stony Brook…recovered a fumble against Stony Brook…recorded season-best two stops in season opener against Central Connecticut State.

2013: Sat out as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach John Kepple at Tallwood High School…earned first-team all-district and second-team all-region honors…selected as the team’s most improved player as a junior…finished fifth in the region in the shot put…honor roll student.

PERSONAL: Born January 9, 1994…son of Clifton Jones, Sr. and Pam Archie…has one sister…father played football at Norfolk State…uncle played football at Hampton…majoring in communication studies.
