Runza has been with the Towson football team since 2019, being promoted to outside linebackers coach starting in the 2021 campaign.
In 2021, linebacker Christian Dixon picked up All-CAA Third Team after finishing second on the team with 73 tackles and a CAA Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Previous to Towson, Runza served as a quarterback & linebackers consultant at his high school alma mater Northern Valley Old Tappan, coaching the players through drills and film study.
Runza played at Monmouth University from 2014-17, helping the Hawks earn an FCS playoff berth in 2017 and receiving the Raymond Michelli Coaches Award. In his final three years, he competed in 31 games primarily on special teams, including being a short snapper.
While an student at Monmouth, he was a sales & marketing intern for the athletics department, including coordinating the 2018 Monmouth Spring Football Game Fan Fest.
A native of New Jersey, Runza graduated from Monmouth in 2018 with a bachelor's degree of science in business administration. He was a two-time member of the Dean's List.
