DJ Steward Headshot

DJ Steward

DJ Steward joined the Towson University football coaching staff in 2023 as the team's wide receivers coach.

2024 saw two Towson wide receivers, John Dunmore and Jaceon Doss, each in their first full year with the Tigers, combine for over 1,000 yards and notch eight receiving touchdowns.

In 2023, four different receivers had at least 200 receiving yards, combining for 10 of Towson's 14 receiving touchdowns.

Steward came to Towson after a year at Idaho State in the same role.  He also was a wide receivers coach at Pittsburg State for the fall 2021 season and Dayton for the spring 2021 season, combining to coach a pair of all-league wide receivers.

While a wide receivers graduate coach at Ball State for the 2020 season, he helped the Cardinals to the Mid-American Conference championship and to win the Arizona Bowl.  He also assisted with special teams and opponent coverage breakdown.

From 2018-19, Steward was the offensive coordinator for the Second Baptist High School varsity team in Houston, helping the Eagles win a pair of district titles.  As offensive coordinator, he coached the wide receivers, quarterbacks and running backs.

Steward graduated from DePauw in 2015 with a degree in philosophy, being a wide receiver and special teams player for the Tigers.
