Kyle Butts joins the Towson Football Staff in 2023 as the quality control coach for special teams.
Butts comes to Towson from Slippery Rock University where he played from 2021-22 as a graduate student. While at Slippery Rock, Butts was the punter and kickoff specialist on two PSAC-West Championship teams and Division II National Playoff participants. In 2022 Butts received All-PSAC honors at punter and graduated having earned his Master’s of Business Administration.
Following the 2022 season, Butts was announced as a Hampshire Honor Society member by the National Football Foundation and the College Football Hall of Fame in recognition of his academic and athletic achievements during his collegiate career.
Prior to attending Slippery Rock, Butts was a member of the 2019 Big South Championship and FCS National Playoff team at Monmouth University. He was also a member of the 2018 team and graduated from Monmouth in 2020 with a degree in Business Administration from Monmouth’s Leon Hess School of Business. Prior to Monmouth, he spent one season at each James Madison University and Bloomsburg University.
Butts is a resident of Clarksville, Maryland and played his high school football for Kyle Schmitt at Archbishop Spalding in Severn, Maryland.
