Biography

A three-year performer at defensive tackle for the Tigers, Richard Lee is starting his first season as a Student Assistant with the football program.

A native of Severn, Md. who graduated from Old Mill High School, Lee sustained a career-ending neck injury in the Tigers’ 31-24 victory over Columbia last September.

In his career, he played in 25 games and started 19 times. As a sophomore, he started all 11 games and made 27 tackles. He also finished second on the team with three quarterback sacks.

He finished his career with 55 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery.

A two-sport standout at Old Mill High School, Lee was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease as a senior at Old Mill. After missing his senior football season, he made a complete recovery and resumed his football career at Towson.

The captain of the Patriots’ football team as a senior, he was also a member of the Patriots’ lacrosse squad.

After sitting out the 2005 season at Towson, he appeared in nine games as a "red shirt" freshman in 2006. He helped the Tigers post a 7-4 record while starting three games. He made 18 tackles and recovered a fumble.

The son of Elton and Sherry Lee, he is a Business Administration major.
