Biography

Veteran lineman who will be competing for playing time at tight end ... very good run blocker who is a very versatile lineman ... can play several positions on the offensive line ... good receiver who will be used in many double-tight end formations ... gives Tigers quality depth at tight end ... has made tremendous improvement since joining the Tiger program ... was a freshman "red shirt" in 2005.

2008 Season: Appeared in 11 games at tight end with one start ... made first career start at New Hampshire when Tigers opened game in double tight end formation ... did not appear in Morgan State game ... saw most of his playing time when Tigers needed extra blocker in short-yardage situations ... had first catch of college career in Tigers’ 31-24 win over Columbia ... caught one-yard touchdown pass from Sean Schaefer on third down play with 49 seconds left in third quarter ... TD reception capped a 75-yard drive and gave Tigers a 24-17 lead.

2007 Season: Appeared in seven games as reserve tight end ... saw action as extra tight end in short-yardage situations.

2006 Season: Appeared in two games as offensive reserve lineman.

At Urbana High School: A product of a very successful high school football program ... the Hawks won the Monocacy Valley Athletic League’s Chesapeake Conference title in 2003 and 2004 when Wes was a starter on the offensive line ... also played defense as a senior ... named first team all-conference and all-area as an offensive lineman ... also played basketball at Urbana.
