The video content and social media integration on the TowsonTiger.com website is under the direction of Damon Lewis, the former managing editor for the Horizon League Network.
Lewis' areas of expertise include digital content creation and management, live event production, videography, play-by-play announcing and analysis, and implementing social media to build online communities.
As Director of New Media Lewis is responsible for managing all new media strategy for Towson Athletics including mapping the Tigers' presence on various social media platforms. He coordinates new online programming for TowsonTigers.com and future websites associated with Towson Athletics. He supervises live event productions, coordinates a staff of students to produce additional video content for all 20 sports year round and acts as supervising producer for future television programming focused on the Tigers.
Most recently Lewis worked in the Sports Department at FOX 59 (WXIN-TV) in Indianapolis and co-founded Victory Firelight, an independent blog dedicated to covering the men's basketball program at Butler University, including the Bulldogs' exciting run for the 2011 National Championship Game. The site offers game previews and recaps, entries focused on tempo-free statistical data, and podcasts featuring national college basketball pundits. His articles on Victory Firelight and other college basketball blogs have been referenced by countless websites, including ESPN.com and CBSSports.com.
A 2004 graduate of Butler, Lewis worked for multiple local television stations as a videographer, reporter and anchor before returning to Indianapolis and joining WebStream Productions as the Horizon League Network's lead content producer. While with WebStream Productions Lewis also spent time as a reporter and play-by-play announcer for NCAA.com and as part of the video staff for the Indianapolis Indians, the triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In 2005 he was Telly Award finalist for his contributions to the production of a music video. As an undergraduate, the Indiana Society of Professional Journalists recognized him for Outstanding Sports Reporting.
