Deana Zornow MS, ATC, CSCS has joined Towson University Athletics Sports Performance staff as a Senior Assistant Athletic Trainer, it has been announced by Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Performance James Shipp.
Zornow will work primarily with the football and tennis teams.
“I am very happy to have Deana join our staff,” said Shipp. “Her work ethic and professional experience will benefit our student-athletes and the overall competitiveness of our program.”
“Deana’s experience with Major Division I athletic programs as well as her outstanding clinical experience will be a true asset to the health care she provides to our student-athletes,” Shipp added.
Prior to Towson, Zornow served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Bowie State University, where she was responsible for the health and safety of the football, basketball, volleyball, cross country, track and field, bowling, softball and cheerleading teams.
From the fall of 2010 to summer of 2011, Zornow was an Athletic Trainer with Villanova University, working with the field hockey and women's lacrosse teams, as well as providing coverage for events such as the men's basketball preseason National Invitational Tournament and Big East Track and Field Conference Championships. She also worked with the University of Maryland football team in the fall of 2009 and at the University of Maryland Baltimore County with men's lacrosse in the spring of 2010. Zornow also gained athletic training experience through volunteering and working at various summer camps including the United States Naval Academy lacrosse camps, Hogan's lacrosse camps, and UK Elite soccer camps, among others.
A Baltimore County, MD native, Zornow earned her Master's of Science in Athletic Training from Shenandoah University, where she was awarded the James R. and Mary B. Wilkins Athletic Training Award. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the University of Mary Washington.
