Towson University Athletics

Julie Frymyer comes to Towson after completing her doctorate in physical therapy while  working as the athletic training coordinator at Naples Community Hospital. 

As the AT coordinator, she provided athletic training care, directly supervised eight athletic trainers, revised and updated the athletic training manual and devised/implemented new policies and procedures.  Through her DPT education at University of St. Augustine, she completed all the classes necessary to obtain her manual therapy certification (MTC). 

Prior to returning to school and her job at NCH, Frymyer worked at Butler University, covering football, women’s basketball and track.

She also worked as a graduate assistant at Florida International University while she earned her master’s degree in exercise physiology. While at FIU, she provided coverage for football and softball and also served as an instructor in their athletic training program. 

Frymyer completed her undergraduate degree in athletic training from West Chester University.

While at FIU and WCU she worked on numerous research projects involving heat/hydration and served as a preceptor at FIU, Butler and NCH. Frymyer has presented at several conferences and was a recipient of a public relations award from the NATA. She holds credentials as a certified athletic trainer and physical therapist.
