Biography

One of the top swimmers in Towson history, Miguel Ferrer Roig '82 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 1993.

He was a double All-American in 1979, earning NCAA Division II honors in the 1650-free and the 500-free. He also graduated with school records in the 1650-free, the 1000-free, the 500-free and the 200-free and was part of three record-setting relay teams for Coach Ray Riordan.

Ferrer Roig was a key member of the Tiger swim teams that went undefeated in 1981 and 1982, winning 29 consecutive meets.

Honored as the Tigers’ Senior Male Athlete of the Year in 1982, he was the co-captain of the Tiger team that went 12-0 and finished 13th in the Eastern Seaboard Meet. After graduation, he worked for an international consulting firm that fostered business and project development between the U.S. and Spain.
