Biography

COACH KENNEDY ON CC: “We’re looking for developing leadership from C.C. He’s going to be able to play some off guard this year and that’s going to open up his game considerably.”

2006-07 SEASON: Started 21 games at the point, including the last 17 games ... had four starts in December too ... first year with Towson’s program after transferring from Brunswick Community College ... paced the Tigers with 131 assists (77 turnovers) and was fifth in the league with 4.09 dishes per game ... broke a 29-year-old single game record with 14 assists against Georgia State ... finished third on the team in scoring with a 6.0 average and second in steals with 43 ... his .758 percentage at the free throw line was second among the starters ... had double digit assists also against Delaware (13) and UNC Wilmington (10) ... had 5 games with no turnovers ... sparked the Tigers with 13 points, 5 assists and 3 steals to the win at Loyola ... scored in double figures 8 times ... logged the third highest minutes played with 838 ... he was the only Towson guard to average more than 20.0 minutes game (26.2) ... a nasty chest cold limited his playing time to a combined total of 11 minutes against Winston-Salem and Virginia Commonwealth.

AT BRUNSWICK COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Second time was a charm for C.C. ... after a tryout session he was discouraged by the Brunswick coaching staff from coming out for the Dolphins’ team ... C.C. spent the next two years working as a short order cook while he honed his game ... during a “Battle of Weekend Warriors” Tournament in his hometown the Dolphins’ staff re-evaluated his ability and encouraged him to attend Brunswick ... C.C. went on to lead the Dolphins to a two year 49-19 record that included the 2005 NJCAA Region 10 Division I championship ... he became Brunswick’s all-time scoring leader with 1,106 points, averaging a career leading 17.2 points per game ... he netted a school record 654 points his sophomore season, shooting 52.2% from the floor ... he was the 13th leading scoring at the NJCAA's Division I level ... he shot 71.0% from the free throw line, making a school record 142 shots from the charity stripe in 2005-06 ... C.C.  closed out his career as the Dolphins' all-time assist leader with 295 for a 4.6 average, and as Brunswick's career leader in steals with 184 for a 2.87 average ... he was 6th among the 2005-06 NJCAA national assist leaders ... scored his single game career high of 38 points against Cape Fear Community College ... he was named first team All-Conference and was runner up Player of the Year ...  he was also named as a NJCAA Third Team All-American.

AT CLINTON H.S.: C.C. was a two-sport athlete for the Dark Horses ... in addition to his play on the basketball squad he went both ways at cornerback and wide receiver on the football team ... in his last two years on the prep court he averaged 14.0 points, earning team MVP and All-Conference honors.

BACKGROUND/PERSONAL: Surname is Curtis Carroll Williams, but prefers “C.C.” ... the person he admires most is his mother ... his favorite athlete is Michael Jordan ... childhood friend of Pittsburgh Steeler running back Willie Parker who has been a close friend and mentor to C.C. throughout the years ... C.C. credits Parker’s counsel and influence as a role model for his returning to school and continuing with his basketball ... C.C.’s favorite movie is Glory Road ... his favorite actor is Denzel Washington ... favorite meal is steak with a baked potato ... his most memorable experience to date was helping Brunswick capture the Region 10 Division I title ... has twin sisters ... son of Curtis Satchell and Jeannette Williams ... majoring in Physical Education ... majoring in Criminal Justice.
