Sophomore, Freshman Years (2008-09, 2009-10) At Cape Fear Community College: In his first year with the Tigers after transferring from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, N.C. ... led the Sea Devils to a 23-4 record in his sophomore year, averaging a team high 17.2 points per game ... Cape Fear was 20-14 in his freshman year when the Sea Devils won the Region X championship, earning the school's first trip ever to the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kan. ... Cephas was named team MVP while averaging 16.6 ppg ... the Sea Devils all-time leading scorer with 1,015 points ... he's the first 1,000-point career in Cape Fear basketball history ... faced current Tiger teammate RaShawn Polk twice in his freshman year ... Cephas outscored RaShawn 27-24 in the first meeting but Polk got the best of him the second time around, 27-12 ... Cape Fear beat RaShawn's Guilford Tech team in both outings ... At Cape Fear H.S.: Averaged 20 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds for the Colts his senior year when he was named the Two Rivers Conference Player of the Year ... he was his team's MVP in his junior and senior years ... also ran a little track in high school, competing in the high hurdles and on the 100 and 200 relay teams.
