Biography
2021: Saw time in eight games as a senior short stick defensive midfielder … caused three turnovers while picking up eight ground balls … spent time on the faceoff wing as well … did not serve any penalties.
2020 Season: Played in all six games as a defensive midfielder … grabbed six ground balls, including a season-high three at No. 11 Johns Hopkins (Feb. 8) in the season opener … forced three turnovers, including a career-best two against No. 12 Cornell (Feb. 21) … served just one penalty all season … aided the Tigers in clearing at an 85 percent rate, including a perfect 22-for-22 at Hopkins.
2019 Season: Played in 13 games as a short stick defensive midfielder … made first collegiate appearance against No. 7 Johns Hopkins (Feb. 9) … caused five turnovers across five separate games … grabbed 15 ground balls including a career-best four against both Mount St. Mary’s (Feb. 15) and No. 17 Georgetown (Feb. 23) … scored the first goal of his Tiger career against No. 3 Cornell (March 10) at The Crown Lacrosse Event in Charlotte, North Carolina … served seven penalties for four and a half minutes, but did not take a penalty for the final eight games he played.
2018 Season: Did not see the field in his true freshman season as a midfielder.
High School: Played midfield at Ponte Vedra High School for head coach Tom West … two-time US Lacrosse All-American … named to Under Armour South Underclass team … earned MVP status … also played football for the Sharks … three-year starting safety … won US Army Scholar-Athlete Award … named first team All-County and second-team All-State.
Personal: Full name is Andrew Downing O’Dare … son of Pete and Jennipher Kemp … has two siblings, Parker and Ryker … father played lacrosse at St. Mary's College of Maryland … most admires his mother for all her hard work … volunteers in the local lacrosse community … hobbies include playing sports and working out … favorite memory is playing in the state championship football game … majoring in exercise science at Towson.
