Chelsea Plimpton

Chelsea Plimpton, a successful ex-player and coach at Fordham University, serves as the Tiger pitching coach.

  In her first season with the Tigers, Plimpton led Missy McCormick to pitch the first perfect game in school history (4/9/14 vs. Temple). McCormick earned three CAA weekly awards including Pitcher of the Week twice. and was named to 2nd team All-CAA.

    Plimpton spent the 2013 season as an assistant at Fordham, where she was part of a coaching staff that led the Rams to an Atlantic 10 (A-10) Tournament championship. Under Plimpton’s watch, Fordham had the conference pitcher of the week five times during the year.
    

    Plimpton’s other duties at Fordham included pitching skill-work to improve mechanics, assisting with scouting reports, video breakdown and various recruiting tasks as well as her in-game responsibilities.
  
 
   Prior to stay her at Fordham, Plimpton served as an assistant coach at Marist College for one season. She guided Marist to an appearance in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament in 2012 while assisting with scouting, organization of the MAAC Tournament and game day preparations.

   She spent the fall of 2011 as an assistant at St. Lawrence University in New York.
  

    As a player for the Rams, Plimpton enjoyed a great deal of career success. She finished with a 40-16 lifetime record and was third in both career shutouts and strikeouts at the school.
    

    She graduated from Fordham in 2011 with a degree in communications and media studies.
