Marissa Spears

Marissa Spears enters her fourth year as Towson University’s Director of Softball Operations. Her primary responsibilities include overseeing game day operations, team managers, and team travel.
 
The 2005 Towson University graduate returns to her alma mater after spending time at Notre Dame of Maryland University. She was the Assistant Softball Coach as well as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Director of Basketball Operations. In her role with the Notre Dame softball team, Spears was responsible for working with the outfield and hitting stations.” 
 
Spears brings over 10 years of coaching experience to Towson. She is also member of the Alliance of Women Coaches and a graduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy (Class #42).
 
Spears joined the Notre Dame of Maryland staff after leading Perry Hall Middle School to a 58-5 record during her six years at the helm. She oversaw all aspects of the program, culminating in three undefeated seasons and four first place finishes.

Spears also served as an Assistant Coach of the Perry Hall Silver Bullets, an AAU team based out of Perry Hall, Md. 

Spears taught at Perry Hall Middle School.  In 2009, she was named Middle School Teacher of the year by the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce, and received the Excellence in Education Award.  
 
In addition to earning her Bachelor of Sciences degree in English literature/writing and secondary education at Towson University, she has earned a Master’s degree in English literature from the Notre Dame of Maryland University.
