Kohei Takada joined Towson Athletics in 2023 as an athletic trainer for Towson’s football and track & field programs.
Prior to filling this position, Takada was a club sports athletic trainer for Towson Sports Medicine from August 2021 – December 2022, where he provided athletic training support for club programs at Towson University and Loyola University.
From August 2019 – May 2021, Takada was a Master’s program athletic trainer for Texas A&M University (TAMU). While in this position, he aided the TAMU corps of cadets, the TAMU baseball team, the Navasota Independent District (ISD) and the TAMU women’s soccer team. For TAMU, he provided medical support to student-athletes and managed medical documentation. For ISD, he documented patient information and provided medical coverage for ISD athletic events. Takada also volunteered for TAMU’s football and track & field programs, aiding and assisting in treatment of athletes.
Takada was an undergraduate student athletic training intern for Southern Methodist University from July – August 2018 and Rikkyo University from July – August 2016. While in these positions, he provided medical coverage for multiple sports and assisted in providing rehab and treatment to athletes.
Takada has been a volunteer academic update project manager for the Japanese Athletic Trainer’s Association since January 2021. In this position, he selects articles/studies that are relevant to the Japanese athletic training/medicine
and translates the manuscripts into Japanese.
Takada graduated in September 2016 from Rikkyo University in Tokyo, Japan with a Bachelor of Arts in sports and wellness. In May 2021, he graduated from TAMU with a Master of Science in athletic training.
