Rachel Yu joined Towson Athletics in January 2025 as the associate head coach for the women's golf program.
As a San Antonio native, Yu joins Towson after serving as an assistant golf professional at the San Antonio Country Club since August 2022. Prior to that, she worked at the Alamo City Golf Trail as an assistant golf professional from 2020 to 2021. Yu also has extensive experience coaching youth golfers, having served as a youth assistant coach at The First Tee of Greater San Antonio from 2016 to 2020 and at the Joe Caruso Golf Academy in 2017.
Yu played collegiate golf at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), where she competed in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). As a redshirt junior, she placed 29th at the WAC Championship. She earned a bachelor of arts in philosophy with a double minor in english and kinesiology in May 2021, followed by a master’s in educational technology from UTRGV in August 2022.
