Biography
2025: Part of Towson's bars rotation until injury in her fourth meet... had a pair of 9.825+ performances in meets two and three, capped by a season-high 9.875 for a podium finish at Penn (1/17)... member of the All-EAGL Scholastic Team.
2024: Competed on beam for the Tigers twice in the lineup and several times as an exhibition, hitting a season-high of 9.750 on January 14…named to the All-EAGL Scholastic Team.
2023: Competed in 14 meets this season…specialized in bars…competed in the lineup on beam three times…hit career high 9.925 on bars at the Denver dual meet (March 5) which is the third best score in program history… Saw three podium finishes on bars…All-EAGL Scholastic Team…Second Team All-EAGL Bars.
2022: First Team All-EAGL Bars … EAGL Specialist of the Week (Jan. 12) … competed in 11 meets, primarily as a bars specialist … competed twice on beam … made her collegiate debut at a tri-meet hosted by New Hampshire with Southern Connecticut (Jan. 9) … scored a career-best 9.900 on bars twice, including the EAGL Championship Meet (March 19) … scored a career-best 9.850 on beam at the same event … finished on the podium seven times on beam with two out-right first-place finishes (Jan. 9, Feb. 2).
High School/Club: Helped lead club team to Illinois State Championships from 2011-19 … personal bests: 9.025 (vault), 9.65 (bars), 9.85 (beam), and 9.375 (floor) … Level 10 state qualifier in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2021 … Level 10 regional qualifier in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021 … 2015 Hopes Compulsory and Optional Qualifier … qualified for 2015 Hopes Championships … took third place at 2015 Level 9 Eastern Nationals … 2016 Hopes Compulsory Qualifier … 2018 Level 10 Region 5 bars champion … took third place on the beam at the 2021 Level 10 State Meet … member of the National Honor Society and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant license in Fall 2020.Â
Personal: Prefers to go by Steph … daughter of Rommel and Jessica Macasu (pronounced: Ma-ca-su) … has one sibling, Samantha … works in the community through the National Honors Society, Feed My Starving Children, Peer Leaders Club, Red Cross Club and Legacy Elite Gymnastics … would like to work in the healthcare field, leaning towards nursing.
