Rebecca Lane

The Towson University women's lacrosse team has announced that Rebecca Lane as its assistant coach on Tuesday. Lane joins Towson after one season at William & Mary as an assistant coach. She helped guide the Tribe to one of its best finishes in the last decade with the program’s best record and the most Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) wins since 2011. She started her coaching career as a student assistant coach at her alma mater, Saint Joseph’s.

“I am excited to welcome Rebecca Lane to the Tiger family,” said Carr. “Rebecca has had an outstanding career as a student athlete at St. Joseph's University and a member of the Australian National World Cup Team. She is a fierce competitor with an incredible mind for the game and will lead our offensive unit. We are honored to have Rebecca on our team!”

Lane, a native of Melbourne, Australia, has played for the Senior Australian National Team. She was the co-captain on the bronze medal winning team at the 2022 World Games and helped the Aussies finish fourth in the 2022 World Lacrosse Championships. Lane was previously played for the U19 Australian Women’s Lacrosse Team in 2011 and 2015. On the 2015, she was named co-captain and selected to the All-World Team while earning multiple game MVP honors.

As a player at Saint Joseph’s, Lane was a two-time Atlantic 10 selection, including first team honors at attack in 2018. She finished as the program’s all-time leader in assists with 84 and holds three of the top ten highest assist seasons. Lane totaled the second most points in program history (209) and the fifth most goals (125). She was named to the 2018 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team and earned the Atlantic Postgraduate Scholarship Recipient.
