Kaitlin Thornton stays with Towson as a graduate manager for the 2023 season after playing five years of lacrosse for the Tigers.

Thornton played in 79 games across five years at Towson and started in 59, where she tallied 144 points on 102 goals and 42 assists. She ranks 15th in the all-time scoring list with 102 goals.

In 2018, Thornton was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team after tallying a career-high 31 goals and 16 assists to help the Tigers to tie the program record for wins (16) and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She scored a hat trick four different times, including a season-high four goals in a 14-11 win over Florida. 

In 2019, Thornton earned All-CAA Second Team after finishing first on the team in assists (14) and second on the team in goals (31). She scored a career-high five goals in a 22-12 win against William & Mary. Thornton tallied multiple assists three times and added 11 ground balls.

In 2020, Thornton was named to the Preseason All-CAA Team in her junior season. She tied a career-high five goals in the Tigers 21-14 win against Ohio State in a shortened season.

In Thornton's senior season, she played in all 18 matches, starting in 15 contests. Thornton finished fifth on the team in scoring with 28 points with 23 goals and five assists. She scored multiple goals six times, including a season-high four against James Madison. 

In 2022, Thornton appeared in 17 matches in her fifth season. She became the 16th Tiger to reach 100 goals or more in program history after she scored a hat trick in a 16-15 win against Drexel.
