Biography
2019:Played and started in all 18 games for the Tigers…logged 1,544 minutes…had one assist, one point and five shots including three shots on goal…had huge blocks on defense that helped the Tigers lead the CAA in saves for a couple of weeks…her one assist was against Bucknell on Sept. 8.
2018: Played in all 19 games, starting in 18. She logged 1466 minutes with the most (104) being played at Delaware… She took one shot on goal at Delaware and had one assist in the tied game with Charleston.
2017: Logged time in 14 games as a sophomore defender … made six starts, including the first of her career against Saint Joseph’s … took three shots, including one in CAA action at William & Mary (Oct. 22) … registered 808 minutes including four-straight games without missing a minute early in the year.
2016: Saw the pitch in six games during her true freshman season as a defender … got the first point of her career with an assist in the Tigers’ 5-1 win over Bowling Green (Sept. 9) at the Navy Invitational … played in 73 minutes, putting up a career-high 21 in that contest against Bowling Green … made CAA debut against Hofstra (Oct. 23).
High School: Played defense at Ramapo High School for head coach Paul Heenehan … named first-team All-Freedom Division in the Big North Conference … earned second-team All-County plaudits … helped team to a NJHS Group 2 State Finals … North I Group 2 state sectional champion and helped team to Group 2 State title … earned honor roll status in two years … also played lacrosse her freshman year.
Personal: Full name is Monica Sarah Scaglione … daughter of Joseph and Catherine Scaglione … has two siblings, Victoria and Joseph … brother played baseball at Quinnipiac while father played baseball at Seton Hall … worked as a summer camp counselor … active in the community as well … working as a marketing major at Towson.
