Carl White joined the Towson University sports medicine staff in May 2022.

Prior to his arrival at Towson, White served as the head athletic trainer for the Austin Spurs, the NBA G League team based in Cedar Park, Texas. During his time with Spurs, White was assigned to provide and manage medical care for NBA and G League players in the organization.

From September 2019 until his arrival in Towson, White served as the head athletic trainer for the San Antonio Spurs during the NBA Summer League. The two-time University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate supervised and managed the Austin Spurs Performance and Wellness staff, including the assistant athletic trainer, strength and conditioning coach and Operations Quality Assurance assistants.

Additionally, White led the San Antonio pre-draft medical screening, including athletic trainer interviews, medical record review, workouts and coordination with scouts, physicians and medical staff. White was also responsible for performance data collection and interpretations, including Motion Monitor 3D Motion Capture, Catapult, Vald ForceFrame and NordBord, and Optojump data. 

He also helped maintain medical records in compliance with NBA and G League standards, while also aiding in medical supply inventory, emergency action plan development, equipment inspection, insurance and workers’ compensation claims.

Prior to his time with the Spurs organization, White served as the assistant athletic trainer with Wake Forest University men’s basketball. White worked with the sports medicine staff to provide and manage medical care for the Demon Deacons’ men’s basketball student-athletes. He also provided coverage for the University’s track and field and cross country programs. He maintained daily medical records, organized and conducted pre-participation baseline concussion evaluations for all student-athletes, and worked with team physicians and athletic trainers regarding clinical decisions making and rehabilitation for student-athletes experiencing sport-related concussions.

From August 2016-May 2018, White served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at UNC while working towards his Master’s of Arts in Exercise and Sport Science - Athletic Training. While back in Chapel Hill, White worked closely with the Tar Heels’ wrestling program and assisted with football in 2017. He also worked closely with campus recreation sport clubs.

Following his graduation from UNC in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sport Science - Athletic Training, White worked at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. While on base, White served as an intern athletic trainer, working closely with men’s basketball, squash and fall baseball.

During his undergraduate studies in Chapel Hill, White was an athletic training student at UNC, working with the football, men’s lacrosse, field hockey, and track and field programs. He also served as an athletic training student intern with the Carolina Panthers during Organized Team Activities.
