Bill Williams is entering his third season as the Towson diving coach in the 2024-25 academic year.
In the 2023-24 season, Williams coached two NCAA Zone qualifiers. Aidan Clark competed on the 1-meter board with a qualifying mark of 303.90, finishing 50th overall with a score of 234.90. Shannon Parrau competed on both boards, finishing 47th in 1-meter competition with a score of 223.80. On the 3-meter board, Parrau posted a score of 237.55 for a 40th place finish.
In his first season, he coached three NCAA Zone qualifiers: Aidan Clark (1-meter board), Ajani Dorner (1-meter board) and Shannon Parrau (1-meter board). Parrau was named the CAA Women's Rookie Diver of the Year following the season.
Williams comes to Towson after serving as a coach at some of the most nationally-recognized diving camps, including the University of Texas. He served as the camp diving coach from 2015 to 2022, coaching divers of all ages and skill levels on 1-meter, 3-meter and platform.
Williams coached at Ripfest with Olympic Coach John Wingfield, Indiana University Camp with Olympic Coach Drew Johansson and continues to coach at the University of Texas camp with Olympic Coach Matt Scoggin. Â
Prior to that, he was the assistant coach at the Red Wolf Elite Diving Club from March 2019 - August 2021. He coached springboard and tower, and developed strength, conditioning and water workouts for divers ages six to 18. He also assisted with running social media accounts.
Williams also held positions as head diving coach at Old Dominion University (2017-2019), St Bonaventure University (2013-2017) and Northern Michigan University (2012-2013) where he was responsible for training, meets, recruiting, video analysis and academic support.
Some accomplishments during Williams' previous stops include:
- At Northern Michigan, had a redshirt freshman qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships
- At St. Bonaventure, was part of the Men's A-10 Championship team in 2013-14
- Coached the A-10 Men's Diver of the Year in 2014 (1st on 1-meter, 2nd on 3-meter)
- Same diver, Alex Marra, qualified for NCAA Zones in 2014 and 2015
- At Old Dominion, coached an NCAA Zone qualifier in 2017
- That same year, coached two men in the top four at the conference championship meet
Williams graduated from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in 2010, earning his bachelor's degree in sport administration.
