Sergey Meshcherskiy enters his second season as Towson Diving coach in 2026-27. His first season with the program saw him named CAA Men's and Women's Diving Coach of the Year. The Tigers took home five diving medals, including three golds, at the CAA Championships as Shannon Parrau was named CAA Women's Diver of the Year and Sam Tennell was named CAA Men's Diver of the Year.
Meshcherskiy comes to Towson after most recently serving as the head coach and owner of Alliance Diving where he has coached elite youth divers such as 2021 3-meter and platform Junior National Champion Delany Hsu.
In 2021, he represented Team USA as a National Team coach at the UANA Pan-American Junior Diving Championship. In 2024 Meshcherskiy served as a National Team coach for Team of Kyrgyz Republic at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships.
He began age-group coaching in 2007 and served in head coaching roles at Whirlwind Diving Club (2007-11), Northeast Elite Diving Purchase (2011-12), High Dive Champions Purchase (2012-18), and Montgomery Dive Club (2018-20).
Meshcherskiy graduated from Ural Technical Insititute in Yekaterinburg, Russia in 2002 and has been coaching in the United States since 2005, he started as a varsity diving coach at Salem State College and as a volunteer diving coach at Harvard University from 2006-2007.
Meshcherskiy grew up in Russia and started diving at the age of five. He was a highly successful diver who placed first and second in numerous national and international competitions including the Junior National Championship, the Russian Cup, and claiming gold in the 3-meter dive and silver on platform at the 1995 Junior European Championships.
