Biography
2022: Third Team All-CAA selection ... went 7-7 on court No. 1 during the season, earning big wins against Johns Hopkins, Fairleigh Dickinson, Saint Francis, Hofstra, Coppin State and Georgetown … also went 10-9 in doubles play … secured a 5-1 mark on court No. 2 with Jessica Assenmacher and went undefeated in the last four nonconference matches with wins over Delaware State, Bucknell, Morgan State and St. Joe’s.Â
2021: Spent the entire season in the No. 2 or No. 3 spot in the singles lineup … won six consecutive matches at No. 3 between March 20-April 13, with straight set victories over Temple, George Mason, Loyola, Mt. St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s and a tiebreak win over Mary Washington … played 19 times in doubles with four different partners – Lea Kosanovic (8 times), Lauryn Jacobs (six), Jessica Assenmacher (four) and Elessa Jacobs (one) … went 5-3 with Kosanovic and 3-3 with Jacobs.
2020: Played in nine of 12 dual matches ... went 3-7 in singles and 3-6 in doubles ... took a doubles and singles win over Fairlieigh Dickinson ... won singles against Delaware State and Coppin State.
2019: Played in three tournaments in the fall … in the dual season, won six singles matches in her rookie season … took her first collegiate win over Duquesne and her first CAA win at Hofstra … helped the Tigers take their first program win over UNCW … won six matches in doubles action, two with Phoebe Collins, two with Jessica Assenmacher and two with Claire Bedi
Before Towson: In the 2017 18u National Doubles she played in the finals, her best result in junior play ... under coach Francis Glover she and her team went to secondary school's nationals twice, finished No. 4 in New Zealand both times ... finished third in the New Zealand 16u Masters .... came in fifth in New Zealand 16u National Singles in January 2017 ... was invited to WTA Future Stars Trials, a top-5 player in 16u in New Zealand ... came in third in 16u New Zealand teams event in 2017 where she represented Wellington ... received Emerging Sportswoman of the Year in Kapiti/Wellington for 2017.
Personal: Daughter of Helen Avery and Lane Lawson ... younger sister, Antonia, is also a member of the Towson tennis team ... admires her father the most ... wants to work in the health field, is majoring in exercise science ... enjoys working out, dancing, watching Netflix, and spending time with friends ... her favorite athlete is Maria Sharapova ...
