Britt Myers

Britt Myers is the recruiting coordinator and inside linebackers coach for Towson, beginning in the 2023 season.  

2024 saw inside linebacker John Gioia to lead Towson in tackles per game with 7.55, placing the Wagner transfer to be All-CAA Honorable Mention.  In addition, Evan Rutkowski was selected to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District® Team, the second year in a row where a Towson linebacker was honored for this academic performance award.

In 2023, Myers coached Jamal Gay to be second on the team in total tackles with 74.  Gay would be a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy®, which recognizes an individual as the absolute best scholar-athlete in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership, and was CSC Academic All-District® Team.

Myers returns to Shinnick's staff after two stints at the University of West Florida, being a graduate assistant coach for outside linebackers from 2017-18 and the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach from 2020-22.  He was part of the 2017 squad which was the fastest team ever to make the NCAA DII title game and the 2022 team which went to the NCAA DII semifinal round.  The Argos were Gulf South Conference co-champions in 2021 and 2022.

The last two years at West Florida, five Argo linebackers earned all-league recognition, including having a top-3 player in total tackles in the GSC in each 2021 and 2022. As the special teams coordinator, West Florida finished fifth in DII in net punting and tenth in DII in kickoff return average in 2022, having All-America honorees at punter, kicker and returner in his two years.

Myers had two stints with Knox College in Illinois, being the linebackers coach from 2015-16 then being co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach in 2019.

An Illinois native, Myers spent two seasons at Lane Tech College Prep as a coordinator, working special teams/wide receivers in 2013 and defensive/defensive backs in 2014.  He also was a national collegiate scout for NCSA Athletic Recruiting from 2012-14.

He graduated from Indiana with a degree in kinesiology in 2011, playing club baseball, and earned his Master's Degree in physical education and human performance from West Florida in 2019.

Myers and his wife, Bee, live in Baltimore with their dog, Rudy.
