Khalil Rivers

Khalil Rivers joined Towson in October 2022 as compliance specialist.

Rivers come to Towson after working as a legal assistant for Charlene Glover Hogan from August 2021 – August 2022. Rivers’ responsibilities included creating guardian ad litem reports and inventories, researching Michigan probate law to stay up to date with any necessary requirements and traveling to different courts to submit documentation.

Rivers worked in business legal affairs for the Detroit Pistons from May 2020-August 2020. He reviewed business agreements, partnerships and legal documents and wrote and reviewed legal memos. Rivers coordinated potential company events with state orders during his time here as well.

Rivers has experience as a judicial assistant as well, working for the U.S. Federal Building & Courthouse (May 2016 – August 2016) and U.S. Federal Court (May 2017-August 2017). He served as an assistant and clerk to Judge Arthur Tarnow in the eastern district of Michigan, studying and gathering information regarding habeas corpus cases, observing courtroom cases and reviewing opinions written by Judge Tarnow.

Rivers graduated from Oberlin College in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in English and sociology. He played football for the Yeomen, earning 1100 career rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. Rivers earned his Doctorate of Law in Sports Law and Criminal Justice from Howard University in 2021. He is a licensed attorney in the state of Michigan.
