Matt Bosse has joined the Towson University swimming & diving team as an assistant coach, rejoining head coach Anthony Bruno beginning in the 2022-23 season.

Bosse comes to Towson after being an assistant coach at Fairfield under Bruno last year.  He is Bruno’s first coaching hire for the Towson roster.

"I'm grateful to be here at Towson and am excited to continue to learn under Coach Bruno,” said Bosse. “The men's & women's teams have a rich history in and out of the pool and I'm looking forward to watching our student-athletes build on their recent achievements. It's truly an honor to be able to contribute to the future of Towson swimming & diving."

“Matt was a key part of elevating the men’s team at Fairfield to second in the conference last season,” said Bruno. “He helped to lead recruiting and coordinate our social media content.”

At Fairfield, Bosse was the main recruiter and travel coordinator, helping the men’s and women’s teams combine for six individual champions, 17 teams records and a pair of top-three team finishes.  The teams also earned CSCAA Academic All-America recognition.

Previous to Fairfield, he spent two years as the assistant coach for the swimming & diving team at Wilmington College in Ohio.  His coaching and recruiting efforts helped the teams set 15 team records and a conference record.  He also has worked swim camps at Virginia, Army West Point and Kenyon College.

Bosse was a swimmer at Iona College, being named to the program’s 2010s All-Decade Team.  He ranks in the top-10 in points in MAAC Championship history, earning eight top-10 finishes in postseason history, including three on a relay team and five in backstroke events.  The 2019 team captain was a competitor in the 2019 CSCAA National Invitational Championship.

Bosse graduated Magna Cum Laude from Iona in 2019, majoring in business administration in finance and minoring in marketing.  He was a member of Iona SAAC for two years.
